The mission of M.B. Taylor Associates is to assist clients in
purchasing services cost effectively. That is,
to ensure that clients are spending their money wisely
and efficiently in the pursuit
of their stated strategic and operational objectives. In doing
so, we provide a full range of Strategic Planning and Procurement
Services to support our clients, including the capability for the
client to learn from our processes in order for them to engage
in these practices themselves should they so desire.

About Michael Taylor
Michael B. Taylor is the founder and president of MB Taylor Associates,
LLC. A native of Northern Minnesota, Michael obtained a BA in Psychology
from Hamline University in St. Paul, and attended the University of
Minnesota for a Masters Degree in Industrial Relations. He launched
MB Taylor after a highly successful 20-year career at Union Carbide,
where he counts among his accomplishments:
- Leading the largest staffing re-organization in Union Carbide
with the reengineering of the Central Engineering Department
- Initiating a competency based skills training and development
process resulting in enhanced training for a major manufacturing
start-up
- Leading a Union Free Skill Center with creative management education
and no successful Union Campaigns under his watch
- Piloting organization-wide Variable Compensation in his subsidiary
experience, which in turn significantly impacted the variable
compensation administrative processes within Union Carbide
- Planning Team Member which oversaw the Union Carbide HR Strategic
Planning Process
- Initiating the HR Services Procurement process resulting in
first year cost savings of $2 million and an additional cost avoidance
of $2 million
- Organizing, staffing and managing the Transition Service Center
for displaced employees in the recent successful Union Carbide
– Dow merger
Michael’s expertise encompasses a wide variety of Human
Resource functions, including union and non-union labor relations,
staffing, EEO, compensation and reward systems, performance management,
and Human Resource Strategic Planning.
